Posted by carrie_roll
Ever wondered the questions: “How are solar panels made?” or “How do solar panels work?”
Well, this quick video answers both the questions about how solar panels are made and what it takes in order to create electricity (i.e. make it work) from a solar panel or solar array.
Enjoy!

Comments: I have been trying to find a source to buy solar panels, no one answers, I also have tried reaching Envision with regard to their solar car parks, they have never responded. Can you help?
We want to use the panels with an inverter and tie into the grid for our pool pump and for our home on an out island… we are in the Bahamas.
I do all kinds of construction but mostly homes and renovations, a girlfriend and I are doing green homes in a subdivision. I am having difficulty getting any response from companies in the US, England and China have responded, I am looking for solar panels and inverts for all of our house for pool pumps. I am also looking for them for Govt. schools, but no luck.
With all the Green talk and the faltering economy, you would think my phone would be ringing off the hook…thanks for responding.

Hey Debby,
Have you seen these companies?
http://energy.sourceguides.com/businesses/byP/solar/byGeo/byC/Bahamas/Bahamas.shtml
Maybe try giving some of them a call and see if you can find out how/where they get their panels… Maybe some of them are building them right there in the Bahamas, and you could partner with one of them?
The other option would be to build the panels yourself. We’ll be posting very shortly on GreenJoyment some ideas about how to build solar panels and ideas for places to get supplies.
Thanks for being part of the GreenJoyment community Debby!
Kind Regards,
Jonathan

I’ve taken interesting on this matter for a long time. I’ve been to Thai/Burma border and saw the grassroots with their hardlife strugling to survive. If I’ve got this technology I’ll do for them to have a better life.
Hopefully yours, Richard -
Dear Mr. Janathan,
Many thanks for suggesting the name of the guide kit for home made solar panels. I am interested in doing it.Can i take that challenge? I look forward in getting your ideas about how to build solar panels and ideas for places to get supplies in India. Also please suggest best guide for HHO engine.N.k -
Solar panels are rather limited in the power they can produce. The area that most people use for solar panels is not going to produce that much electricity compared to amount most people use. I would be cautious of claims how a few square feet of solar panels can produce a good amount of electricity for you.
