How to convert watts, volts, and Amps
Posted by carrie_roll
Background:For some of you excellent DIY people, this comes natural. But for the rest of us, conversions from volts and amps to watts can lead to confusion and frustration.
If you’re building your own solar panels, at some point, you’ll end up wondering how to calculate the different energy conversions of watts, volts, amps, amperes, and you’ll wonder how much wattage goes into charging a 6 volt or 12 volt battery.
To get things working right, you’ll need to calculate watts, volts, and amps.
Unfortunately, they don’t all work together simply, but there are some very simple ways to do the conversions.
The most recent GreeyDiyEnergy videos have some GREAT Step-By-Step screens to show you EXACTLY what to do, so I bootlegged one of them and posted it here. (Not the whole video, just the image screen which shows the conversions and how watts, volts, and amps relate to each other.)
