Solar Home: PV Panel Installation With Good Video Overview

Steve and Caron Wenzel of Woodstock, Illinois show their solar home in this video.
The video below shows their solar and alternative energy research, as well as what they did to buy and install a grid inter-tied photovoltaic solar generating system on the roof of their suburban home.

Again, grid-tied means they are selling electricity back to the utility company in their local area.
This video is a bit long, but explains pretty successfully what you will want to consider when planning for and installing your own grid tied PV system, (assuming it’s relatively small or being used just to power your home.
Again, the video has a LONG intro on the benefits of PV (photovoltaics), followed by some pretty great detail on the installation of their own solar panels and what they did to make their own solar panel system work effectively.
